Reload everything apart from .22rf.
Re: Poll - how much of your shooting is with handloads?
The latter I think. I'm no expert but I would say until there are signs of incipient failure. There's lots of stuff on the web and especially on Youtube. Things like small cracks at the neck; loose primers (signs of gas leaks), a shiny line near the rim (head separation) etc.
I also keep a number count of the number of times cases are used. Although I haven't reached that point yet there will be a time, I think, when I bin a whole batch and buy new.

We rotate out brass in batches so they are all within one firing of each other and a keep a note of how many firings, in fact we have details of every single round that has been loaded in this house including the date, load parameters and even the weather on the day.
Re: Poll - how much of your shooting is with handloads?
Other than .22rf all my ammunition bought in the last 35 years with the exception of two boxes of rifle ammo bought abroad has been reloaded.
Re: Poll - how much of your shooting is with handloads?
Apart from having given me 300 x 308 FED rounds when I bought my Rem 700 I have never fired any shop rounds, other than .22 of course On my calculations I can fire 308 for approx 43 pence per round, and 223 approx 31 per round, this figurer does not include the brass

All my shooting which includes 308/303/45.70/44.40 are reloads except 22rf. Like Ovenpaa l log all reloads. My FEO fully endorses it as it shows them the amount of shooting l do and with which rifle.

That's why your club keeps records. I'll guarantee you as well, come renewal, should the figures you've previously given your FEO are not equal to or surpassed by whatever "new" figures you give, this will be used as a stick to beat you with. Likewise, the police will never allow your figures to be justification for increases in any capacity as your figures are not auditable...
Provide what information you need to provide as dictated by legislation. Anything else just digs you a hole.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

buy it - load it - shoot it..simple. Reloading is just black magic and alchemy...

Over the last few years I've taken to loading, and now load everything other than .308 (TR) and .22LR - I was surprised, that after working it out it's now more than 75% !
I had my renewal last year, and asked my FEO if she wanted me to keep a record - as both clubs I shoot with keep records of shoots and rifles used she said I didn't need to bother.....but I do keep records of the various 'recipes' for my own reference.
