CSR, Historic class

#1 Post by Gaz »

I had a good laugh today shooting my No.4 at the Winter CSR league meeting today. Great course of fire, good bunch of people, very friendly and welcoming to two newbies turning up with .303 No.4s! Me and BrunelTR were the only two historic class competitors this afternoon, which was a mild disappointment - nothing quite beats a good competition!

One to repeat methinx. :goodjob:

Shame there aren't more people competing in the historic class - It's the same with the Historic part of the Imperial, and the Trafalgar...I can't understand why, when there are so many people who love their classics...?

Anyway, glad you had a good shoot....but where are the pictures!? razz

It was good to meet you both; and congratulations on getting a first & second between you! :o

You really will have to come again, the next two meetings are 3rd March & 6th April.

Glad you enjoyed it - you should have come to the morning match for the Somme simulator that is currently the run down on Century from 200 - 100!

There are a couple of people who occasionally shoot historic; however most of them have ARs and you can't shoot the match in two classes! Also, it's far easier to reload during the Urban contact match if you don't have to use stripper clips!

I was hoping to come and watch on Saturday but couldn't make it. Was down on Sunday and had a look at Century range, can't believe you guys run through all that mud and water, you must be bonkers, lol.

The conditions on Butt 19 forward of the 300 yd FP can be challenging in the winter to say the least when doing the run-downs

Crap, that does look like a challenge. Do you shoot CSR yourself?

Yes, I have been since 2005. The season runs from October to April with an am & pm match each monthly competition. IIRC there hasn't been a competition cancelled because of weather although we had a late start in January because it was foggy. The year before there was a couple of inches of snow and your fired cases just disappeared and nobody uses a mat so shooting prone was a little chilly.
Entry form and course of fire for 3rd March is on the NRA site
