Lever Action Rifles...........
Love them.......I've a Marlin 38/357 and a Winchester 94 in 22 Rimfire.

A nice report on the Marlin 336...........Listen to the sound of it being cocked.. :D

Yep, I used to love my Marlin .44. Had to sell for financial reasons, but would definitely get another if I could afford it. Same one in fact, perhaps with an octagonal barrel though.

I love lever guns!!

I'm fortunate to have 6! All Marlins....I have a "thing" for them.

An original 1894 in .32-20, an original 1897 in .22 made in 1906, an original 39 Octagon, again in .22, an original 336 Octagon in .30-30, an 1894 Cowboy in the "uber-rare" .32 H&R magnum and a limited production 1894P in .44 magnum.....

And, currently looking for original Marlins in .25-20, .38-40, .44-40, .38-55 and .45-70! Anyone rckon I'm becoming a little obssesive?!!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Are 'original' period lever actions still available or have they been priced out of the reach of mortals?

I am warming to them, what class of competition can they be used in and do they allow optical sights?

Ovenpaa, check out gallery rifle UK, all the regs are on there. They are a lot of fun but stick to Marlins, some Winchesters are dogs.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Bill Pink! He has been a nice chap to deal with in the past, thank you for reminding me. That is a very nice looking rifle as well.

Thanks Mike, I will take a look. I have a feeling Dangermouse actually shoots something like this in competitions.
