New member from Bermuda

#1 Post by Holds Tight »

Greetings!

I'm from Bermuda and am a member of The Coral Reef's Rifle & Pistol Club, Bermuda Target Shooting Association, DCRA and the West Indies FullBore Council.

Been shooting for 28 years with the last two being seriously into TR and smallbore.

Hey David, welcome to the forum, somehow I think Bermuda weather on a bad day is going to beat the UK on a good day. What do you think of your Eliseo B1 and how on earth did you find this forum??

Well it seems that when you google full bore with safe search off you get quite a few "interesting" websites to say the least.

I really just happened upon the site.

Love the B1 now if I could just shoot as well as it can all will be good. Ultra adjustable, fairly rare outside the USA due to the change in export rules, my biggest headache is a totally different sight arrangement to traditional TR setups and a lot of trial and error to get and confirm repeatable zeros and come ups. I use a Phoenix rear mounted on a picatinny rail and a Riles or Rightsight upfront. The Rightsight with an adjustable iris and the Riles using fixed apetures.

The other members of my club seem to like the fully adjustable cant, buttstock and buttplate but have no problem with giving me grief in watching me dial it in.

Someone once said you are only three clicks away from image porn with Google, personally I think it is closer to two. I can still remember an odd error message on our washing machine, so I googled it with my 14 year old daughter sitting next to me, and then swapped to image search. I can still remember her laughing as I frantically tried to navigate from the page displayed.....

The Eliseo seems to have many useful adjustments which is a nice feature as so many times we try and fit ourselves to a rifle instead of the other way round. It is interesting that TR rifles seem to be leading the race in this area, After many years of shooting clays I took my shotgun into to be adjusted for fit and was shocked when it came back with another 30mm on the butt, and yes with a couple of other changes it now fits and I shoot better for it. I try to do the same with my rifles.

Welcome David, nice to have you on board.

We have a forum shoot at Diggle near Manchester in June if you are interested! BUT what about a forum shoot in Bermuda next year?

I'm afraid all I can offer you in Bermuda would be 50m at our range...We have to go overseas to shoot anything more, but we are hoping for 300m by 2013.
