AR15 Stocks
Hi all,
Just wanted some thoughts on good stocks for a .223 AR15. Quite like the Magpul UBR but also quite taken with the STR & CTR. Will be using my AR for basic target shooting and civilian service rifle. Any thoughts / experiances with these or any other stocks will be appreciated.

I've got a FAB Defence (http://www.full-bore.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=10237) and a Magpul SRS (http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG307/181). Both are pretty good although not collapsible.
Re: AR15 Stocks
I put a CTR on my S&W15-22 a year ago. Tough, light and locks up well, but found that I needed to add the Magpul low riser to give a decent cheek weld. Recently put an STR on my SGC 9mm and the extra width gives a much better cheek weld (also handy for keeping 123 batteries for the Eotech!). Both of these are on mil-spec tubes.
If going for a new stock from scratch (and you still want something relatively lightweight and collapsible), I'd personally pick the STR.

Thanks for the replies. Do like the UBR but it seems a bit pricey and is out stock everywhere I've looked.
Re: AR15 Stocks
Wait for the UBR, you won't be disappointed...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Everything made by Magpul is likely to be out of stock for the next year or so

MOST of the MagBullCrap they bring in is the PTS variant anyway - yet most of it still fits the normal guns !!

Re: AR15 Stocks
Sorry for the thread hijack but a quick question.
Does the recoil buffer in a straight pull AR15 have any purpose? I'd guess not since the bolt does not recoil?
