If your referring to the BBS forum than the t*@t of a moderator (Baz?) was banning people by the dozen, hardly habit forming!

Less banning. More free speech.

We are all adults and we are all shooters ( regardless of what particular firearm or calibre or disclipine )

To be fair this really only happened when he'd been hitting the bevvy.

What did happen with Baz?

he kicked me off the BBS for disagreeing with him years ago. Seems you weren't allowed to think MTC scopes were rubbish, and so I got kicked off.

Sometimes banning is the only solution. This thread alone is sailing incredibly close to the wind - he'd been told reasonably nicely what the issues were. I accept he wanted to disagree, but mouthing off on a public forum, to the owner of that forum, is not the way forward. Equally, freedom of speech is very important, though there is always a line. I felt that line was crossed here.

Several regulars tried to explain that the banter on the board was such because most members knew each other personally and to take it easy until they got to know everyone.
I did notice the UK home town forum was pretty dead, and noticed one of my shooting buddies who was a regular poster hadn't posted or logged in for 6 months. I only really created an account because loads of them use Dillon presses unlike here, so can ask for help/advice when needed. And it looks like like I might be doing a few business trips over to the US soon, so I can ask on the State forums sightseeing/food/shooting advice on what ever City/States I might be going to.

'Banter' is fine, but it can quickly turn into flaming, trolling and personal insults and by that time it's difficult to get the ringleaders back on track.

This happens in other (non shooting) forums I frequent and it's really destructive. The mods have to be tough or the rot sets in very fast. Some of you will defend Bradders to the hilt but you can't deny he's often involved in stirring and usually fans the flames.

Take a look at all the comments he's posted on this forum over the last 24 hours and then tell me why you think the ban is not justified. We don't want what happened to AR15/UK to happen here.

I do realise he has done a lot for CSR, but that doesn't give him the right to insult and attack people on here just because he doesn't agree with them.

I've been on the receiving end of some of his 'opinions' myself (based on inaccurate assumptions and plain arrogance on his part) which has made me very wary of him and a number of his followers in the CSR community.

It's certainly turned me off the idea of shooting some of those matches in the future because I'm not interested in all the back-stabbing and bitching which goes on.

We don't need this sort of person on the forums and the shooting community as a whole would be better off if we could get rid of these divisive elements completely and work together to promote and support all shooting sports.

So Christel, it's a :goodjob: from me.

**Cough** AR15.com **Cough**

Everyone raves about his rifles but if this is an example of his customer service ............................. NFC
His customer is actually first class, he just doesn't like tossers!

I do find it funny that now he has been banned for life you brave soles are coming out of your holes to have a go at a man who cannot defend himself on here. You'll be telling me next he was seen flying on a broomstick around the NRA range office.............. :o
Hi Mick,

I have nothing against the guy, but I was a member of AR when this kicked off. My comment about customer service is relative, Bradders (if that is his name and the person), doesn't come across well here, but saying that I have dealt with RFD's who I think are fine but again others dont take too.

Personally I don't think this is a good thread for anyone, and think it should be archived as it gives the wrong image of people and staff and has been quite personal at times.

Personally agree, does no one any favours. Damage is now done so archiving may bring an end to it rather than adding to it piecemeal. You never know, you may all like each other in person.

This post should have either been locked or deleted the moment the OP was banned to stop the bickering it has now attracted.
