As Rearlugs points out above, it is. Strange how that warning apparently applies to No.4 actioned rifles but not SMLEs and earlier
You guys are killing me!

If you read the warning (or indeed thread) it says in capitals "ENFIELD NO 4 RIFLE CONVERSIONS TO 7.62MM" in the title - If you then read the details, it goes into some detail about throat and bore diameters...which referes to conversions with modern (relative) barrels....

....I say again ( :cool2: )...this has nothing to do with .303 service rifles.

You started it - you invaded Poland  I was going let go and allow the thread to gracefully head to the archive. So what does this bit mean then? :-

"• Owners of Enfield No 4 actioned rifles in any calibre are strongly advised not to use them in wet weather or without removing all traces of oil from action and chamber prior to shooting."

Ok, ok - that particular sentence is unfair to No.4s (picky bugger razz ) - though personally I am careful with ingress of oil and/or water with any gun....

I will not resist the 'archive' further...
