Removing bluing.....how to?
I have a couple of projects on the go at the moment and with one I want to remove the bluing on a barrel band and then to polish it.
Anybody got any idea as to the best way to do this with out excessive abrasion ??

I can recommend the Birchwood Casey Bluing remover.
A very effective chemical stripper, just keep it well away from your other Rifles and components, one splash and it's stripped!!

Cillit Bang
The club secretary used it to clean his black powder revolver one day - it got it much cleaner than he'd wanted to, right down to the bare metal

Bog standard rust remover such as HG and 0000 wire wool. Just stripped another Marlin.....

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
