Bullets v Boolits

Bullets and Boolits, I know they are spelt differently and the latter refers to cast bullets but where did the peculiar spelling come from, is it an American thing?

Cast Bullets was a section on the old Shooters.com forum. Ken (45nut Cast Boolits owner) moved it to the old Aimoo Cast Boolits boad which didn't really work out so when Willy at Gunloads gave us a home there Ken moved us to that site and then its just history. With 17K + members and rising.

I've been privileged to have been there from the start and seen the site grow from hundreds to 10s of thousands, on staff as a moderator. I have my own views on the growth and big is not necessarily beautiful but the philosophy behind the board is sound and thats what makes it work.

Boolits/bullets well thats what Ken decided was needed to differentiate real boolits from these newfangled jacketed condom projectiles. Makey up word yes, but it has a lot more meaning and relevance than the current useless and dangerous "bullet heads".

See here for Ken's definition:

Google shows about 75,600 results for the word 'Boolit' so it is catching on. A quick check of "www.full-bore.co.uk" gives about 28,100 results, world domination for boolits and F-B(UK)
