(disclaimer: I know nothing at all about reloading!)
Being a slightly boring type, I was reading this study into the factors affecting gun barrel wear: http://www.riflebarrels.com/articles/barrel_life3.pdf
In chapter 3.2, "Erosion mitigation", it mentions the successful use of titanium dioxide to mitigate the effects of heat-based erosion. This study is about large-calibre guns rather than small arms but I imagine the principle remains the same. Is it feasible to introduce TiO2 into reloaded ammo, with the aim of extending barrel life?

Re: Reduced erosion loads
I imagine that Vihtavouri use it or something similar in their 5 series double-based powders as they claim to have been able to increase the energy content but not at the cost of throat erosion...... of course there are claims and then reality as I know that some are dubious about the claims.
Re: Reduced erosion loads
Looks like nobody knows! If I take up reloading in the future I might experiment and see.
