Wish me luck..

#1 Post by techguy »

Posting my FAC application tomorrow :)

Probation over at main club, probation over at secondary club this weekend. UKPSA member and safety course complete, PSG comps and open practice under my belt with another PSG comp this weekend!

I was wondering, my FAC application is fairly adventurous in number of slots (have justification for everything - all target shooting) but have still left one thing I want off :( Would it help my FEO if I put together a shooting 'CV'? Just so he has on paper an outline of my experience for when he comes out for a chat?

I think a shooting CV would make a wealth of difference and is certainly worth adding. Good luck with the application :good:

Our approach to the FEO is that it all counts. We email, post and hand over in person everything that is asked for and a bit.

...then we make sure the FEO has received it by phoning...

Good Luck:)

Good luck, hopefully your force is a bit quicker than mine, been 14 weeks now and still waiting.

As for the shooting cv, it's not a bad idea, all depends on how in depth your feo wil be, as mine wasn't really interested, just asked if I had shot all the guns I had asked for, he didn't scrutinise me, whether the office will when they finally get round to my application is another story.

What are you shooting on psg, just 3 shot on SGC at the moment?

Thanks all..I'll get one done this week. My SGC visit was pretty quick after posting my app, so hopefully the FAC visit will be similar.

Primer, yep just shooting a 3 shot pump on SGC at the mo. Has been very good loading practice! Had a side by side with a seasoned PSG'er the other week. He used a S2 semi, I used my pump and there was less than half a second between us on the stage (9 steels, 2 positions). So really looking forward to being competitive with a S1!

Where do you shoot?

As for quick, honestly, don't expect too much. The FEO that used to cover our area has gone part time and the force lost three FEO's in the cuts, I believe. On top of that, the admin staff in HQ who administer everything also were slashed in the cuts. Not wanting to pi$$ on your parade, get ready for quite a wait.....

But, a couple of new members in my club had their applications dealt with in three to four months recently.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Reeds in Bearstead for indoor .22, and Bisley trips, Romsey near Basingstoke for PSG, and with F4i for PSG series comps and multi gun events. You?

I was on the waiting list for Lydd just before I got made redundant on my first time around so lost my place. I'll might try to get back on it once I have my FAC.

I'm not expecting quick. At all. I know about the cuts (have friends/family in Kent police so am aware of the severe cost savings being implemented). My SGC took 3 months earlier on this year, so around that would be great! Is it still Tony covering our area?

Small non-exciting update for this. I emailed Kent HQ to make sure they received my paperwork, and it didn't go walkies. Received confirmation back it is now with my FEO; so I await his call with baited breath. I wonder if I can tempt him with biscuits this time...
