They may have different items on their FACs or maybe both have shotguns but only one has FAC?

I found TVP helpful and had no problem with positioning or security on my cabinet, as to firearms and ammo in one place? isn't that exactly what happens when you use the internal lockbox in the cabinet for ammo ? :shifty:

Well I never thought of that when I asked if they were both members of the same club except I did a typo :)

Thanks again for all the replies.

the wife and I are potentially going for different guns, was also thinking long term as the 2 cabinets can potentially hold 12 guns clapclap.

I was also told that girlies sometimes get an easier ride with ammo amounts for storage; how sexist, I'm every bit as grown up as my wife O:-)

In general it sounds like TVP are okay, I'll keep my fingers crossed and let you know how I get on.

Hi

One thing I think the two of you need to sort out, that from the discussion so far may not be clear, is mutual access to each others guns. If you are happy with the issue and TVP have offered you a workable solution, fine. Otherwise, PM me or give me a call at work .

I can think of a few people including at least a couple of other forum members who live with shooters and different forces seem to approach it in different ways including:
  • You do not have access to your wife's firearms and they are separately stored.

You have access to your wife's firearms and everything she holds is listed on your FAC, not ideal as it means if she wants another gun you both need a variation for it and both need to have it listed on your respective FAC's

You have access to your wife's firearms and have a condition on your FAC that states ' The holder of this certificate may have in his possession the firearms and ammunition held on certificate (Certificate number) in the name of (Wife's name) She would have the same on her FAC
The third option is how we do it in this house.

Ammunition holding, well neither of us have ever been knocked down and we both hold a significant amount of ammunition on paper.

A 6 gun cabinet seldom is, half a dozen 'scoped rifles tale up a lot of space...

Around here you will need an alarms system when you get into double figures unless you can demonstrate adequate security.

Option 3 is how we do it as well. Saves all the hassle and comes in handy at times.

It certainly does when your FAC has not come back from renewal and you want to shoot a competition, of course the down side is if your fellow certificate holder out shoots you at 800, refuses to shoot at 1000 because 'She cannot see the point and anyway she has a book she wants to read' and then out shoots you again at 1200.....
