Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Sorry to be a miserable git, but I find that people generally live in their own little microcosm - they don't learn from the past, and don't think beyond their own future...or 4 years for politicians....

I've been doing an Environmental Science degree for the last 6 years (nearly finished), and while it will improve my life (hoping to get a much better job fingerscrossed ), what I have learned has, at times, made we wonder why I've bothered...because despite all we know, all the scientific proof available, and all logic....human nature seems to override it all...and continue us on a self destructive path.....

....has that cheered you up?

And it's the cheap German wine that keeps me sane!

Since I signed the badger petition yesterday it has gone up some 4000 signatures. Will that petition make any difference? I doubt it. Cynical me.

Cheers for the reminder - just signed it :good:

It's up to 11 000 now, and I'm sure it'll get the 100 000 needed for Parliament to review it.

I signed one about 'by-catch' last year which got over 700 000 signatures, and there are definite moves in the European Parliament to change some of the current fishery laws...

....so you never know fingerscrossed

When I signed the petition it had some 7000 signatures, now 5 days later it is up to 34.800 signatures. It runs until 07/09/2013 07:38

Despite reaching the number that is needed in order to be heard in parliament I doubt it will make any difference, the first license has been issued to Glouchestershire.
I believe it is a 4 year trial.

Shame on humans for doing such a thing, for reaching such a conclusion, for thinking it is ok to cull another species because there is a problem they cannot solve, a problem that is man made in the first place due to extensive farming practices.

My signature says it all.

I say give it a try , one thing is for sure talking will not solve the problem.

we cull rats , rabbits (we invented a horrid diesese for floppsey) and many other creatures so why not badgers?

typical 'arh it's cute' sentiment with little real knowledge of the problems

i think this petition will do as much good as the reinstate pistol shooting petitions and fox hunting petitions , a total waste of time.
