My club has just doubled the yearly membership to £20, no green fees, and most of the time we have a marker. Days are normally split between full bore and small bore / gallery rifle. All our shooting is conducted at Bisley.
Unfortunately you will have to join Metro City PD to have a chance of joining!

Re: A bit of a quandry here decisions, decisions!!
Well in case your wondering,, I decided to go to the Syndicate Shoot, instead of the range invitation, last saturday,,,I took Christels Advice on that one,, as the syndicate only shoots during the pheasant season,,,and we have only one shoot left now,, next saturday,,,the only other shoots we do are Vermin control as In Rabbits now and again....as Christel said Rifle clubs shoot all year round,,,,so I will take up the range invitation on another day,,,perhaps when the weather is a little warmer aswell....
I doubt that I will shoot over 300 as I will try my .223 out, see if I take to it or not (as in Civvy style) and if I do I may well look at something different .308 maybe,,,we shall see, what we shall see...
By the way whats the rules usually on moderators on the range,,can you use them or not,,or is it dependant on the individual clubs rules??

I think it is Laurie Holloway is using a 223 in the GB F Class League to good effect. Don't right off your mouse gun beyond 300yds just yet. Some load development may well take you out beyond 300yds.I doubt that I will shoot over 300 as I will try my .223 out, see if I take to it or not (as in Civvy style) and if I do I may well look at something different .308 maybe,,,we shall see, what we shall see...

It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

They are not allowed in some competitions but other than that most clubs welcome them as they mean less noise.barney57 wrote:By the way whats the rules usually on moderators on the range,,can you use them or not,,or is it dependant on the individual clubs rules??
A .223 is certainly capable out to 600 and with some work will work at 1000+. Christels rifle uses 80 grain .224's SMK's just that she hits them a bit harder and has a 1:8 twist to stabilise them, it works nicely at 1200.
