BSA International Mk. III restoration
Here is an example of good hard work on the restoration of a BSA International Mk. III rifle. My friend doesn't cut corners.

Fantastic job! The MkIII is a superb rifle, although you wouldn't want to carry it too far. Mine weighed in at around 17lbs with a modified stock.

I am impressed with the blacking, is it a DLC finish?

I don't know if it is anything more than a hot bluing job over a highly polished rifle. I have refinished several rifles myself, buy Bobby Cundiff polished these by hand with automotive sandpaper to 2000 grit. After talking to him, I brought up my standards and have a few that look as good, except for the wood finish.Ovenpaa wrote:I am impressed with the blacking, is it a DLC finish?
I will try to duplicate the wood finish as I suspect it also is an automotive 2-part clear coat.

What a beautiful restoration job, those of us of a certain age have fond memories of these BSA's, they used to be the staple of small bore clubs at one time.
