Ok folks ... First of all sorry about the air rifle post on a firearm forum .. But looking for some help ..
Took my falcon fn19 to the club this evening just to re-zero and basically out of interest ..
Now .. Here's the question .. About 50% of the shots made perfect holes in the paper ..25% made oblong holes and 25% made "rips" .. Any ideas ?? My thoughts were tumbling pellets ??

Yep could be, have you inspected your barrel for any fouling? Are they the same pellets you've always used or different ones?

Is accuracy affected, are you shooting with a moderator on and what type of pellets are you using?

Shoot at a "harder" target first, say a cardboard box, the corrugated type. Paper targets rip in all sorts of ways all depending onto what they ae fixed. Fix a paper target on to a board that has loads of previous targets still on there with the centres shot out and you new target may have nothing against it to take the strain for clean holes.
If it's still doing it, especially with a percentage of shots, you may need to look at your pellets. Some may be under size, especially if they are "budget" you may not get the consistency. Quality pellets do come in different sizes for the same calibre.

The pellets are accupels .. With a moderator .. I'm not sure if this has always been happening to be honest .. I only really noticed it because I was trying to score on a 25m smallbore target and I was losing points !!
Is it a hard job to take off the barrel on an fn19 ?
Cheers

Any sign of the pellets striking the mod? I'm guessing accuracy was still good, which means Sim might be right regarding the target with the dome headed pellets contributing to what you're seeing.
If your Falcon is anything like my S200, removing the barrel will be a matter of loosening a couple screws.

Not sure about the pellets hitting the mod .. I'm back at the club next week and ill try shooting without it to see what happens ... Accuracy seemed ok .. Scored 89 on a 25m card .. However the rips would have dropped it a lot lower !!

To check for pellets tumbling use a piece of 6 or 9 mm ply at around 25 metres. Take several shots at defined points - don't worry too much about accuracy, and then inspect the results. You should see the open rear of each pellet embedded in the ply but if you see a side view or one not fully in it will suggest something is awry.
