My First Rifle No4 Mk2

So I just acquired my first rifle well other than the R93 Offroad I am waiting on.
I just bought No4 Mk2.
She has a few marks on the wood work but action is pretty smooth, bolt has little in the way of wear marks and barrel looks very clean and tidy too.
I am very happy with her all round.

I was shooting mine at 900 yards at Bisley last saturday.
Once I sussed the wind out I could keep the shots on target,even managed a v bull!
They are good value and an investment.

That is a good looking rifle. There is certainly something rather special about a Lee Enfield.

Hi Ray,
Very nice Rifle mate, lovely woodwork, what flavor of MK2 is it?
Converted No4 mk1 or Fazakerley built No4 mk2.
Always wondered, has anyone seen a P.O.F manufactured example for sale in the UK before?

The rifle is a Fazakerly built No4 Mk2.
She is all matched as well.

There are a few about. They are very good quality rifles. Although the history of the parts & equipment transfers to Pakistan (and India) is a bit of a grey area, it seems likely that the POF production was at least based on BSA parts and expertise. POF rifles strongly resemble BSA rifles - ie good surface finish (less crude tool marks than with Maltby and Fazakerley) and a hard blueing.

Congratulations and commiserations on being infected with the Enfield bug.
I hope you have deep pockets, because you're going to need them. I started with one, then got five, then 15 or so. By 21+ the police decided to make me an RFD, so that I would give their variations team & FEO a rest..... that really got things going, and soon I was up to....
..... 250+.....

Some nice Rifles there. 250 plus you planning on kitting out a Rilfe company
I have always had a soft spot for the Enfield as was the first rifle I ever shot all be it in .22 when I was a bairn before shooting the real deal when I was older. Great rifles and when ever I am visiting my head office Minnesota I always have the standard argument from a few of my American friends that the Springfield is a better rifle. Having shot the Moisin, Mauser and Spirngfield I happily say I much prefer the Enfield :)
