'Soft' and 'Hard' Cartridges

Although I've been shooting for years I have very little knowledge about shotguns.
I have 3.
Miroku 6000 SP1-12 O/U,
Alexander Henry S/S Hammergun with Damascus Barrels Nitro Proof
and a G.P. Graham of Cockermouth S/S Hammergun Black Powder Proof

The Miroku I'm not worried about it's a good strong gun in good condition.
The Henry is in excellent condition with no barrel (Checked By Dicksons a few years ago)
The Graham is in good condition.

What loads should I be looking for at the 'Soft' end of the scale? 1 oz? or can you get lower.
What is the load at the Top or Hard end of the scale is it 1 1/8th or 1 1/2 oz?

Any help would be appreciated.

Robert

Hull Comp-X 21g are nice "soft" cartridges, even the 28g are very easy on the shoulder :good:

The little Eley Impax used to be good - if they are still available!

Look for some of the subsonic loads...

OR, PM me & I may loan you some 12-ga reloading gear so you can make your own
