RCBS 10-10 Scales

Hello chaps
Got a question about a set of RCBS 10-10 Scales, on my workbench I have a level slab of granite to sit the scales on but when I have zeroed the Scales I find that the base is not level so can this be calibrated by adding or removing weights so well at zero the base of the scale is level too, or is it best leaving well alone, thank you in advance.

Not really sure what you are asking as you should be able to level the scale by raising or lowering the foot under the lefthand side to achieve a zero reading with all weight slides set to zero. Long time since I used a manual scale preferring the RCBS Chargemaster. I hope this helps although the question was not clear.

Yes achieving zero is easily done but what I'm saying is that the scale base is not level, is it best to adjust the internal weights to gain a level base when at zero.

No idea - my experience is that if the base is uneven you even it up by the adjusting screw on the foot. Beyond that I would not think that playing about with weights is a good idea. Suggest you talk to RCBS before doing anything else. They have a very helpful chap called Richard Miller - Richard.Miller(at)ATK.COM

What you can do is adjust the weights that are under the powder pan holder.
If it's the same as the 5-0-5 the silver base comes off and mine has several small (I assume) lead or steel balls in it of various sizes.
Adding/subtracting from this to get a true horizontal zero with the base (and therefore the beam) set level with the adjustment foot was what I did with mine.

Cheers and will give it a go! Just seems very logical that when the balance beam is at zero then the body of the Scales should be level too,
