Just thinking of joining a shooting association again but wondered which is best, i used to be in CPSA but not any longer just wondering which will be best suited for me as i now want to do
Clays
Target rifles
Practical shotgun/minirifles
Is there one that covers me for all of the above as each discipline seems to have its own association when looking into it.

Personally I can't recommend any of them as I haven't found any of them fit for purpose. Therefore there is no national organisation worth supporting as such.
If you want to book ranges at Bisley in your own right then it is worth joining the NRA.
Before I retire to the bunker I would suggest that you read the threads in the National Associations forums where their "strengths" and weaknesses have been done to death.
The main thing is insurance and good shooting insurance can be had from other organisations at a lot less than the NRA or BASC.
Good luck.

Every credit for wanting to support a national body. It is important and is the way that we can protect our sport.

BASC. They're the only organisation whose insurance covers all of the mentioned disciplines (AFAIK - CPSA definitely doesn't cover PSG). They also the biggest and are active (or as active as any British shooting association is) in the media. They are also the most expensive unfortunately  however they do offer a range of payment options

Basc insurance isn't that good, as this link shows, surprising really, given the cost.

But what does SACS do for our sport? - they have been asked this directly numerous times across on the SD and they simply avoid the answer.
BASC for me everytime. (although I am also a member of the NRA) - I would never be a part of NOBs again, that is simply a money making fraud for a few people.

I'd quite like to join one too.. if only for the insurance and assistance with FAC applications/variations/problems

I joined the NRA in the seventies and am a life member.
I shoot multi discipline and it suits me although it doesn't, for instance, give me access to CPSA shoots except on a 'birds only' entry (ie I can't win a prize)
I can't say whether it is the best, it probably isn't.
This probably isn't any help, I can only suggest that you look around and see what is going to suit you best. You may, like many of us, have to join more than one to enable you to do all that you want.

The NRA will help you if you have problems with an FAC application which is always nice to have. Happily I've never had to call on it but its nice to have (BASC may do the same; I'm not a member so not sure). I think the NRA have had some problems in the past but they do seem to be getting it together recently (although it has been painful for some who have lost jobs).
