Russia May Legalize Possession of Handguns...Clicky...

Federation Council Vice-Speaker Alexander Torshin intends to propose a bill that would allow Russians to possess handguns and use them for self-defense without fear of being exposed to criminal liability. Presumably, the bill will be proposed in the State Duma early next year.

Promising news from Russia. But why is this? Could it be the type of politician they elect?

Surely you are not suggesting that parliament, with its preponderance of public school and oxbridge elected members and civil servants, is a homoerotic environment.

Theresa May, the Home Secretary, and the Liberal Democrats are also strong supporters.

Well everyone carries them anyway, so they might as well just make it legal!
