Any proprietary lube melted down will do, especially if you cake cut them out.

The best ever home made lube is Felix's World Famous Lube (FWFL)

"Felix Lube formula

2 Tablespoons mineral oil
1 Tablespoon castor oil
1 Tablespoon Ivory, or homemade soap (grated)
1 Tablespoon Lanolin
Beeswax - Piece approximately 3 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 1 "

Heat mineral (baby) oil until it starts to smoke.

Add castor oil, and stir continuously for 1/2 hour.

Sliver the soap, and stir into the mixture a little at a time, until melted.

Add the beeswax before the lanolin, and then when that is melted, reduce or remove the heat and add the lanolin, thus not running any risk of burning or scorching the lanolin.

1 teaspoon of carnuba wax can be added to give a shiny bore. This can be found on the seal of Makers Mark whiskey, or the red wax on cheese from the supermarket.

Once made, let cool. This can be remelted in a microwave, and poured into the lubrisizer."

For low pistol velocities Beeswax, olive oil and some lanolin is hard to beat.

Bens Red is a good lube too.

"50% beeswax
30% Red, Tacky Lucas High Temp Grease
10% Johnson's Paste Wax
5% Dexron II or Dexron III Trans. Fluid
5% STP Oil Treatment

This is some good stuff !

The mixture is heated on low temp setting ( melted very slowly ) on my electric hot plate until all the ingredients are mixed. The mixture is poured through an old T-Shirt, to be certain there are no impurities in the mixture. Then everything is poured into metal pans that have been lubed with Pam Spray Olive Oil.

Once the lube is room temp., it is placed in the freezer. The lube stays in the freezer for 5 hrs., It shrinks and easily falls from the metal mold pans.

I will cut this into 2 " wide strips with a sharp utility knife and place in large gallon size storage bags. I melt my lube and pour it into my 2 lube-sizers."

Tumble lubing with Xlox is a lot easier than pan lubing and just as effective for up to 1200 fps velocities.

Personally I'd sooner spread the stuff on with my fingers than pan lube, but each to his own.

A bain marie or home made equivalent (tin can in a pan of hot water) is essential when melting lubes

Thanks for the recipes.I did know that beeswax is one of the key ingredients, but this is something which i dont appear to be able to find in shops.I know i can order it online, but that isnt practical for me so would prefer to to buy it face to face along with the other ingredients.

If it makes any difference ingredient wise i shoot almost full power loads with DodgyRogs cast boolits at moment and they're superb.
