i have aqquired a second hand large gun cabinet which has been cleaned and sanded to about 95 % of it total back to clean meatal.
What paint should i use for a paint brush application finish?
Should i go red oxide>primer>finish?
i want as smooth as surface i can get bar spraying it, i might be able to spray finish it but this will involve moving the cabinet from where it is atm, its BIG

any info, tips or advice would be much appreciated

finished colour will be the yellow/orane area

try smooth hammerite, its applied by a brush and goes on easy. Wilkinsons do their own version which is cheaper

IF you could move it, find a powder coating company. A lot better than paint and will withstand the various knocks. My local guy would charge about £20 for doing it in a colour of my choice out of the ones he has in stock.

I should think if you painted it that colour, you'd want to lose it... smile2
