TR140 Ignition woes

Loaded up my first batch of ammo for my Berthier carbine using TR140 powder and standard L/R primers and all I got was scorched powder and the bullet 6" up the barrel. Has anyone else experienced ignition problems with this powder?
I have loaded another batch with Federal magnum primers to hopefully cure the problem.

I have used it with no problems, in .223, .303 and .308. Unless it has been stored badly my finger would point towards the primers, have they been ok with other powders.

How many grains of TR140 were you using?

Almost through my second 1Kg tub of TR140, using it in two .308s, 41gr with standard CCI or Magtech primers, no problems at all.

May have missed this elsewhere but are we decided that this is a N140 replacement?

What was the case neck retention like on the bullet and how much of the case did your load take up?

How do you clean your cases? If you use ultrasonic or stainless pins in water...were your cases dry before reloading?

NOT a direct replacement:
N140 is ONLY made in Finland
TR140 is NOT made ub Finland
- from my research TR140 has a very similar burn rate but I'd not class it as a direct replacement

TR140 is marginally slower so like for like loads would have no real impact, maybe drop a few fps however as with all good reloading practice it needs to be worked up to.
