Happiness is dodging e-bayUK's anti firearms rules and acquiring 5 more en-bloc clips for my Steyr - which brings my total to 8. :good:

Yes. Bulgarian surplus - 1938-40. I have about 350 rds left. :good:

They do look good, all ready to go. From what I've been able to find out, that 40 rds should be just over a minutes worth of firing! :o The action is nice and fast and I can believe, with practice, it's achievable. Recoil is stout, but not as bad as some of the US sites would have you believe. I think the combination of muzzle blast and flash makes it seem worse than it is, but I think it's great fun rifle to shoot.

Prvi Partisan makes 8x56R, so sourcing new stuff isn't too bad. Dromia will be my main source of surplus, but for the long term I plan to cast my own and reload using the Prvi brass.

Most likely the LEE C329-205-1R, but it depends on how the barrel slugs - when I get around to it. ;)

On these rifles a throat slug is more important than a bore slug as throat filling boolit is a pre requisite for any kind of accuracy.

Over on Cast Boolits we are doing a re-run of the Oldfeller Frankenstein boolit that was specially designed for 8x56R throats and when cut to speccy works very well, we are using MP moulds of Slovenia and Miha cuts a very fine mould so I have high hopes for it.

It's never as simple as you think! Thanks for the link - I've had a quick skim and I see the LEE mould is too small :cool2: . I'm guessing there's a 'how to' on taking a throat slug in the library?

Correct.
