Not sure if this made the national news but it was a big local story.
I coached at this Young Shots event last year (and would be this year if it weren't for a family holiday having to be fitted in around the Olympics) and several others in the region and this is the first bit of negative press I have seen. All of the kids that attend are there because they want to be, most shoot already and all are very receptive to learning about the topics presented. They generally get lessons in 3 or more activities during the day such as clay shooting, air rifle marksmenship, fly casting, nature walks, working dogs, ferrets etc. The BBC seem to want to portray it as some training camp for hooligans.
So glad I pay my license fee every year..
