Hi all, I shoot a blaser Lrs2 in 308 & 243 cal and was looking to share reloading data with other Blaser shooters, Has anyone manged to get the berger 185g vld or hybrid bullets to group well for 600-800-1k ftr with their blaser Lrs2-Tac 2? Ifso could you share recipes along with oal which seemed to yield best results, thanks.

I can help you with load data for 185 Hybrid and VLD's in .308 with N540/N550/N140 and TR140 but not specifically for the Blaser. What twist/ length and model of barrel are you using?

Welcome to the forum BTW :good:

Using data harvested from the internet might not be the best possible route to go... each rifle is different (different small tolerances and barrel wear gives different distances between the ogive and the lands - effecting accuracy) so I'd try and find some standard loads for those calibers and tweak them to suit, always working up never at or near the maximum load.

You should be able to find your own "perfect" round, but it will take some patience and trial and error!

Welcome to Full-Bore!

Ultimately you are going to have to work up your own data for your rifle, there are no real short cuts.

Plenty of 308 data out there, choose your components and your starting load and away you go. Once you've got a good powder velocity combination then start playing about with seating depth if you feel it is needed.

Your targets will tell you what your rifle likes.

Thanks for replies, Been reloading for over 10 years and was hoping to find another blaser lrs2 308 owners who could share their findings when reloading using the berger 185g VLD and Hybrid bullets with what oal range seemed to yield best accuracy for 800-1000y ranges.
I have found the Lapua molly scenar 185g with Lapua brass with a oal of 72.50mm varget-n540 47g yields good accuracy however i feel the berger VLD or Hybrid bullet will offer slightly better results with less wind drift at 800-1000y.

Hello Ovenpaa,
Barrel on Blaser Lrs2 is 308 match medium profile flutted 24in barrel with 1 in 11 twist, Have found n550 good powder with the heavies 180-190g range bullets and n540 good with the 150-180g range, Varget is very consistant and has yielded exellent accuracy with the 185g scenars with my lrs2 however i believe the hybrids 185g will yield better accuracy with less wind drift over the scenars at 800-1k for ftr.

I prefer N540 but a compressed load of N550 seems to give good results for a couple of people I know. I can PM you the load as I prefer not to put it down in the thread, it is a *very* compressed load but certainly delivers the results.

N140 or the slightly slower TR140 is a good choice as well.

I'm told that the 308 Blaser fluted match barrel is tailor-made to suit the 168 grain Sierra Matchkings.
