Hi all , i was wondering ..., what is the proceedure if i am asked to shoot on another farmers land ? , do i inform the police im on the land ? , or do i do nothing , i know the first thing would be to get a permission form from the land owner , and what if i want to go on one of them shooting breaks , when you rent a cottage for 3 days and shoot on the land . If you're using a shotgun you only need the permission of the land owner, you don't need to inform the police.

If you're using a rifle you need to have the 'open' condition on your certificate for the quarry you'll be shooting, i.e. vermin, foxes or deer. If you have the 'closed' condition on your FAC i.e. you have a named piece of land or it reads " . . . or land inspected/deemed acceptable to the Chief Constable . . " (Sorry can't remember the exact wording), then you'll need to get the new land added to the condition/get the FEO out to sign off the land for the calibre you're wanting to use.
