180 Berger Hybrids .284
80 SMK;s .224
Something else in .224 - to be decided.

Plus Fed210M, CCI BR (SR) CCI BR (LR)

A mix of Lapua and Norma brass.
Have you looked at the 80.5 Berger in .224? I shot a load more at the weekend, and the elevation spread I got was pretty much dead flat (total maybe half a minute) at 5 and 600 yards.

1000 yards testing on 24th June.... Either way much better than the 90s or 80 A-max, and the BC is excellent on them - no major disadvantage against a 308 running 155.5 Bergers.

I am not sure the Berger is going to stand up to the MV of the 22C certainly the 90 grain Berger's vaporise at over 3100fps. The 80 grain SMK will cope with 3230-3260fps and works well at 1200 yards.

Hmmm... Well I've run them up to 3100 in the 223 and they're OK there, with a 1:7 twist, so might be worth a box just to see.

The 22C runs a 1:8 and the problem is keeping the MV down to an MoD range legal level, the SMK's seem to have worked well from day one and have returned some impressive results.

What powder and barrel length are you shooting to move them a 3100 in a .223?

I had that with 25.3gr of Varget. Unfortunately I have come back to it and am getting pressure after a change of primer. I am working up the load again at the moment, waiting for Oundle time for chronoing. It was averaging at 3075, but hitting 3100 at the top end.

I do think they're worth a go for you, and if they break up I'll buy what you've not used as t'other half will shoot them.

What primers were you using? CCI BR Small rifle seem to cope with pressure quite well, they certainly seem harder than Fed. I wil see if I can put my hands on some for the black gun, I seriously doubt Christel will put them near her rifle given it's current performance.

Who stocks them in the UK and how much are they or do I need to look at importing again.

Was using Remington 7.5s, and then went to CCI magnum primers for 90grain. Because the brass was primed I stuck with the CCI anyway, but bad decision there!

I am now rechecking everything with rem 7.5s again.

I get my bullets from norman clark, and they're about 30-35 quid a hundred. BC is a long way in front of the Sierra.

The 80's have shot 32,0mm group at 600m which is .19MOA at 650 yards and seem to work well at 1000/1200 so it would be interesting to see how the Bergers fare if they could cope with the MV. We should see if the Viking is up for a sunny day with her rifle at Bisley when things quieten down and meet up and see how they compare :good:

Yep, that sounds like a plan, should be quite an interesting little test. If she can shoot like that mind, my kit might be rather outclassed!

I would not worry about that, I can soon drag the shooting down to all time lows plus I would either be shooting a well used/abused Accuracy International or a hunting rifle.
