Your wish list - bullets & brass
Your wish list - bullets & brass
OK guys, I'm gearing up for my first stocks of brass and bullets around the end of summer.
Here's where I need your help...
What calibres would you most like to see me stock, assuming I can get them at a good price?
Be grateful of your posts on here.

Thanks for these, ovenpaa.
I should have added, I am not going to be offering primers or powders at this stage.

Re: Your wish list - bullets & brass
One thing I'd really like (at a sensible price) is 200gr .429 plated bullets for my Henry .44, at 13Kg a 1000 I can't see me getting many on my next trip to the US.
Bold Action aren't getting any more of the Frontier, Peter Lawman has them but is as much use as a chocolate fire guard for sending orders (or replying to phone calls and emails), Tim Hannam now only stocks Ace at horrendous prices (end of rant!).

Re: Your wish list - bullets & brass
If you could import these or other FMJ .451 bullets that would be great. How about brass, in .45 Super or .460 Rowland (if my plan comes off)
Black Rifle - Firearms, Ammunition, Vortex Optics, MDT Chassis, AR-15 accessories and "go-faster" bits for your Smith and GSG 1911

Thanks for this, Phaedra. Loved the rant! And love your signature line too!
It's the very issues you've raised which have prompted me to start something up. I mailed ovenpaa about this a while back and he kindly posted up on Shooting SHED.
Thank you too, majordisorder. So noted
I'll be starting off with a modest stock of the usual suspects, but this gives me some very good ideas where to go once that's done.

Cast bullets for me! And no doubt for a lot of people shooting old lever guns! .25-20 in 60gn, .32 cal (314) for .32-20 and .32 mag. .32 cal (.321) for .32-40 and .32 Win Spl. And, .30 cal cast flat points for .30-30......
And brass. Brass for all of the above and for .38-40. Oh and .40-82. Well, you said it was a wish list!
And, how about some Alliant Black MX? as EB won't be bringing it in......!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

.223, 6.5, .30 & .303 - I'd be interested in good prices on Sierra Match Kings for the 4 calibres listed & .277 (sub-140gr, for the 6.8SPC)
Also other OTM styles in the calibres above
Possibly decent FMJ bullets too
Good quality .223, 6.5x55 & .30-06 brass
There IS a growing market for the CBC Magtech shotgun brass too - either to use as it comes or as a base for sizing into obscure old rifle ammo
