Hi all
a quick query, a potential buyer for my finnish capture nagant wants me to send it to his rfd so they can have a look at the rifle.
Can this be done? as i thought once it was signed over to my rfd ( similar to when having sold one to be posted) that it is now off my certificate? and if the buyer doesnt want it for whatever reason then i take it i am snookered
Any advice appreciated
douglas

I don't think so, though I will have to check.
If you transfer your rifle to an rfd for any of several purposes, he simply transfers it back on completion. Why should inspection for a prospective sale be any different?

I had occasion to leave my rifles with an RFD overnight earlier this year. He put them onto his books and crossed them off when I came to get them the next day.

It's a fairly common thing in the trade.
The gun only leaves your FAC if the bloke wanting to look at it goes ahead, pays you, then the receiving RFD puts it on the buyers FAC.
As long as the potential buyer is willing to pay costs TO his RFD, AND back to your RFD should he not like the rifle...AND the RFD receiving the gun knows that it's for pre-purchase inspection ... only to hand it over if he pays first, etc. etc.
Hope it goes well.
