Hello,
Does anyone have a recent lot of 0.223 Lapua cases? I think these are head stamped 'Match'.
I'm trying to find out the neck thickness, so I can determine the right size of bushing die. I think the thickness is about 0.013".
I know the best way to do this is to measure a loaded round but I would just like a bit of info ahead of time.
I've had great success using Redding Type S bushing dies for my 0.308 and 6.5 x 55, so will probably get a set for my new (hopefully in the next few months) 0.223.
All guidance appreciated.

Mossy,
I assume you have some dial calipers?
I had trouble recently with new Winchester brass in .284. Because my chamber was so tight I had to take 12 thou off the necks to get them in the chamber!
If your cases are like mine were, they will be thick and inconsistent.
Bit like me - before someone else says it!
You need the necks to be of uniform thickness and strength for accurate performance.
PS, if you don't have dial calipers, I reccommend you get some, less than twenty quid almost anywhere.

Re: 0.223 Lapua neck thickness
I have some Brand new Lap Match in .223 at home, and some unfired NOS of the same (before the blue plastic box they came in) - I'll measure and compare both when I get home from work too :)

Thanks Guys,
Yes, I have a digital vernier and a neck thinkness mic.
The only reson for me asking is that I am abroad at the moment (won't be back home until August) so can't measure anything until I get back. Thought that if I could confirm a neck thickness, then I could order all the reloading bits and bobs for my return.

Both NOS and new are consistently around 12.5-13.5 thou.
