Hello,
I am asking for info on behalf of a friend. He has just acquired a Swiss 1878 Vetterli and would like to put it on ticket and shoot it but it is in and unmolested state and hence is still rim-fire. Does anyone know a source for a converted centre-fire bolt or even another donor rim-fire bolt as he is very reluctant to convert his all matching one.
Thanks.

Start here, on the left of the page is a menu....third item is "Vetterlis"...hover curser over that...find "A wallflower no more"....all the details you will ever need to convert to centre fire.....

He has a thing for all things Swiss! I must admit that the manufacturing quality of the rifles seems to be very high, although I am still to be convinced on the looks but they are growing on me. I am hoping to find a bolt and do the mods myself as a bit of a thank-you present, as he is going to be my best man in a few weeks time

I think you would have to be very lucky to find a bolt in the UK. The states or Canada would be a better option. Ask on some of the swiss rifle forums, I think you may have better luck on them.
