Evening all, anyone happen to know the current turnaround for variation at beds/herts firearms?
Popping a couple of 1-4-1's on, and asking for ammo increase, I'm making assumption that as long as my firearm count does not increase I won't have to pay the fee? so extra ammo doesn't count as fee payable?

As far as I know extra ammo does not have to be paid for during a 1:1 and I hope it does not as I have asked for a fair bit more on my current limits at the same time as applying for a 1:1. I also spoke to Beds and Herts on Friday about my renewal and they said based on my location (a few miles out from Bedford) it should take 4 weeks maximum.

That is not bad. Not bad at all considering what we hear from other counties.
I was very skeptical when I first heard of the merge however it seems that they are getting on top of the situation with not much delay in issuing.

They did struggle to find their feet when they first merged but they look to be back on form and doing a cracking job. I still cannot get over calling them one day and getting my revised FAC back in the post the following day. Hmm.. maybe that is the PO doing a reasonable job as well however Christel is still waiting for an EFP to show and that was 2 years ago.
There must be a big pile of mail somewhere, I have posted a couple of things recently and they still have not arrived.

I posted a Certificate to them Thursday of this week and it arrived back yesterday updated as agreed, cracking service as far as I am concerned.

Very good indeed and there was even a note attached saying "no extra charge for express service"

From posting the request for an additional rifle to returned certificate - 11 days, a couple of weeks ago.
Excellent service.

When renewing my FAC in the summer my witnesses send their forms to our Fire Arms dept in a large envelope using a ordinary 1st class stamp. It came back to them 4 months later via Belfast. One of the witnesses lives 1 mile from the Fire arms Dept. So make sure you put enough stamp on
