Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

No, I didn't feel as if I wanted to watch it.

Hunting is one thing, not my particular bag, but I don't like that at all.

Gun rhymes with fun.

Don't worry too much about watching it. It really shows how bad the practice is - no blood and gore. The only skill is locating the bears den and not having to track or wait for teh bear.

In South Africa there are places that breed lions, then put the partially drugged into an "enclosure" (maybe a 2km square) and with a small radio transmitter.

They then sell take several thousand from the hunter to shoot a lion in the wild ... and guarantee that the hunter will get several opportunities and almost guarantee success. The lions stand no chance and the hunter is being ripped off too.
