Hi all, i recently acquired some 9mm luger brass from one of the ranges which im a member of, i don't know what gun has fired it but i have quite alot, the questions i have are,

- what LBR/RIFLE are we allowed to own in this country in 9mm?

- are we allowed them on a normal FAC?

Thanks in advance

There are two rifles that spring to mind,

Armalon do a 9mm lee Enfield, it is really sweet to shoot with next to no recoil but is a little too slow for competitions and has a hefty price tag.

The second, is the AR style SGC lever release, which you will find a few items on if you use the search engine on this forum. It promises to be fast and is working it's way in to competitions (gallery) but a few members on here who have them are experiencing feed problems.

If you were at Bisley, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary use the ranges there and as much as they try to pic up after themselves, they are bound to lose some,

A fair bit of the 9mm brass that is left lying around will be Berdan primed and as such really only scrap value.

Look inside the case - If it's boxer primed ie. easily reloadable, it will have one central flash hole. If it's berdan primed it will have two small flash holes.

Berdan cases "can" be reloaded but it's not really worth the effort.

With respect

There are no specific calibre limits on Firearm Certificates.

If you want a rifle in 9mm all you have to do is apply. If you can provide GOOD REASON for having it and you are not of UNSOUND MIND or INTEMPERATE CHARACTER the police will give you a FAC for what you want unless they know something about you that makes you unsuitable.

I suspect that your problem will be that you have some vague idea of firing 9mm (which is what I infer from your opening message) and you have no clear idea how you are going to do it and thus GOOD REASON is not established.

call me 01483 7977777 x 154 if you are an NRA member.
