Hi folks,
Just wondering ... when your weighing brass , what variance do you allow 1gr. / 2gr. in each batch ????

Depends on the calibre/case size.

I use the 284 case (Lapua 6.5x284 expanded to 7mm) and weigh them so each box of 50 is within 1 grain extreme spread and that is good enough for me.

I never weigh brass. I've established to my own satisfaction that it doesn't make a difference.
On a visit to a major ammunition manufacturer I asked if they had ever done any tests on weight of case versus velocity. They had and showed me the results based on about 15,000 firings. The weight v velocity graph showed no link whatsoever.
But, it if makes you feel good..............

+1 from me. Wish I had a £ for every hour I've spent weighing and sorting brass. And another quid for every time I've found no traceable difference and chucked it all back into the one tub.
Mind you I found Lapua brass much more consistent in weight than Federal. I don't have enough of other makes for a reliable analysis.
I also tend to think that with a sample size of 15,000 any variation down to the heavy case and the light case at the opposite ends of the spectrum will be nullified.
