Here's my No5 , just to make yas drool. She shoots superb. After a resurection from a Scotish attic, mummified & wrapped in goo, i scrubbed her up, put a couple of hundred round thru & she is real sweet, filling the freezer every year. This is her in her party guise , a synth sporter stock & as in std trim, fully dressed :P

Fine rifles indeed, the wandering zero myth is just that, a myth.
Aye they are not bad a carry in the hill, I've taken reds with a few of my No5s over the years all with open sights.

oh yes, 174 s/p, niiice. I'd like to try some 150 s/p i have but cannot configure a load, thats a descent grouping.
& yes 'dromia' you hit the nail on the head with the wandering zero MYTH. This rilfe does sub 2" groups ( i dont like to boast, but really 1" )@ 100 yard + , & i have put almost 260 rounds thru her in 3 years, on the field & ranges, with no effect on zero. :) I do let her cool @ the range after 5.

Jeez, my No5 was £325 two months ago and that was with a scope, (I know

).
I have seen the word "original" used, is there something to watch out for?

I have seen a couple of look a likes for sale recently, big give away was a very different muzzle end, the clones looked to have some form of brake fitted which did not look anywhere near right.
I have always wanted one and my son would have one in a flash, he even talked about fitting a No32 MK3 to one but he was 'talked' out of it
