What I would give for another 2 inches - cleaning rods

#1 Post by Dangermouse »

I can not be alone in finding that between my 32" barrel and the rod guide my cleaning rod is just not long enough.

I have seen extension parts available, but can not find the link, does anyone know where to get them or have any ideas?

Lol, maybe not then! :p

I had to google a "Bobbitt" - I remember the story, not necessarily the names though!

Fulton's will cut and thread a cleaning rod to the length you require at no extra charge over the cost of the rod.

Hi you can buy a length of rod and thread the end, then to coat it buy some cable shrink wrap from Maplins or electrical suppliers. You can buy wrap with sticky inside so when you heat it to shrink on, it's there for good. Ronboy

It has taken a while but I have just found the company that makes what I am after

Possibly a solution for a problem you did not know that you had, but I like the idea of the ability to eliminate false positives when cleaning,

Have you tried Boretech? Had the same issue when i got the last barrel fitted. 32" barrel, action, bore guide, etc meant the old rod was not long enough. Bought a Boretech rod, and before the handle comes near the bore guide the rod is about 4-6" out of the muzzle.

Just measured mine. It's 57 inches total length with the handle comprising 5 inches of that. Should be enough for any rifle.
