And the AR

pe4king,
Not my kind of rifle shooting is target, but brilliant to see a "young un" giving it a thrashing. You must be well proud of him.
Regards

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

And he's much better company than Kev as well.........!!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Neither of mine are interested and the last time Mrs Rob shot a gun it was my G70 Mk4 on the G range at Sennybridge back in the 70s.
And this blasted weather don't help.

Heh! Best he loads his own mags at that rate!
It is great to see youngsters being introduced to the sport, my son and daughter both shot pistol with me before the ban. I can always remember James talking to a new shooter at the range one day, the shooter came up to me a few minutes later and told me the club 9mm he was using had misfed and James had cleared it for him and explained the process at the same time. He was maybe 15/16 years old at the time. It was a proud father moment, however I do wish they had called me.
Daughter on the other hand... well she was just dangerous and I was always a wreck after 15 minutes with her.
If it is any consolation my son is now 27, owns and shoots an Accuracy International and I still provide the ammunition!

The only things I wont let him shoot yet are the Enfields and the shotgun, he has his eye on all of them though

Re: New blood to our sport
I started my son off with a Gunmark Sable S/S NE 12 bore for shooting clays. We stripped and cleaned the gun and removed the varnish and oiled it so it became his in many ways. He has a good eye and used it very effectively whenever he came out with me.
He shot infrequently yet within a few months I would put him up first for the difficult shots so he could tell me how much lead to give the clays, it has not been used for a good few years but I would put money on his ability to shoot with is were he to pick it up again.
They never forget.
