As some of you may be aware I made a significant career change end of last year and have been working on some ideas ever since. I have also spammed the forum up on occasion with shiny things and to that end I have decided to start a new range of shooting and reloading accessories, all hand built in the SHED.

I have no intention of asking for a spot in the Vendors and Innovators section as I am not sure it is the right thing to do, I have however started my own journal and website which keeps things independent of the forum, I will mention things I have produced from time to time if this is OK with you guys (..and ladies as well!)

It is going to be a challenge however I am enjoying life and I intend to officially go live with the SHED range of accessories start of August 2012 which will give me the chance to get everything in place. :shakeshout:

Does this mean your not actively seeking full and meaningfull work at the job centre . cough cough .

Ah, there is meaning in the madness as they say.
Our personal advisor at the job center knows exactly what we are doing apart from not recognising most of the words :lol: like bipod and OAL.
We are allowed to send out samples, advertise, search the market, prepare as in building stuff however not for more than 15.59 hours in the SHED a week.
At the same time we have to apply for jobs as per the normal rules and sign on every fortnight. This is all done with their blessing because as they have told us many times "no chance in hell David will be able to get a job". He is over qualified for most jobs and within his area there is nothing.

Thanks all. I had to face up the reality that slotting back into IT Security specifically at my level and with within the field of Malware was going to be problematical even if I was up for some very long commutes, add to that my age and a yearning for the chance to do something different I chose the SHED option.

I am lucky in that this allows me to use my hands and my mind, I can work as many hours as I want and know that when I clock off home is but ten steps away. Equally if I think of something I can just turn round and go back to work. I am in control of my own destiny and I doubt I will ever get rich doing this however if I can pay the bills, feed the dogs and shoot occasionally then I will be very happy.

The best part is I am doing something I enjoy immensely.

When you said your advisor doesnt recognise the words I just assumed he didnt speak English , which wouldnt be any great surprise these days :lol:
Its far more satisfying working for your self , what you put in is what you get out of it .

By her own admission she dislikes guns and has no understanding of them or why people should be interested in such things however she has left now so next time is a new person and at least she wished us luck last time we met up.

Oh gosh no, she is a fantastic advisor, hair that Robert Plant would be envious of and born and bred here.
Only down side is that we have only seen her twice and tomorrow is her last day, then she starts a new job.
We have of course been assigned another advisor but am not to see him until May sometime.

I had to laugh when we early on mentioned shooting, she said "I am against shooting"
