Later maybe, do you have a picture showing the turret (I assume it is elevation only) What sort of reticule does it have?

Many thanks for looking at it Ovenpaa :good:

The reticule is a single pointed post.
Here is a seller's photo of the turet

I am pretty 100% sure it is a pre-war made one.
I am concidering it to go on my Mm410 as it is one of the most typical scope that would have been mounted at the time on that type of 22 sporter.

So I wanted to see how closely in time this scope & my gun were born apart.

Here is a 37 dated US ad for those sights.

This site (in German) informs us that at the time the Mm410B would have cost 66,50 Reichsmark or 98 fitted with a Zielklein.

Morning froggy.

Just done a quick search found 2 sold in the US last year. The information stated 1930's production of Carl Zeiss Zielklein scopes No 52557 and 16452.. scope suitable for hunting with .22rf
They were in fantastic condition, sale price not visible.

The one you show pictures of is too badly pitted...

Froggy, the tube and drum could be machined and polished out to refinished however it would be a time consuming and costly job and you would end up with a 'scope that was no longer original.

It is a lovely looking thing all the same.

I think I'll clean it with a cloth impregnated with Oxalic acid. That should remove all the surface rust to start with.
I am indeed very happy with it as it is fitted with the original mount.

You must post some pictures once it has been cleaned, oiled and mounted to the rifle. :good:
