It took some work, anodising is not quite as easy as I would have expected but once I had sorted out a reasonable power source with the ability to control the current it all turned good. (I used the PSU and speed controller I use on my Unimat) High points included mixing a white powder into water in the kitchen, the two of us peering into it and both wondering how it was supposed to clean aluminium. Christel dropped the parts in and wow! Best get that out of the kitchen.

Testing resumes in the morning and I am confident we are on the right track now.

So the anodising has started :good: ...can't believe you're doing it in the kitchen!

The only part of the process that takes place in the kitchen is the dying and final setting as both are harmless processes, that and making coffee. Yes I do admit we did add aluminium to the caustic/etch tank in the kitchen, not something that will be repeated...

One thing I did learn is I cannot anodise the bipod feet, the welding process I use to join the ski feet to the bracket does not react favourably with the anodising process, either the caustic tank, or nitric acid de-smut or the sulphuric anodising process does something and the weld basically fails so they will have to be shiny.

So the bipod colour scheme is probably going to be black legs and top bracket with shiny feet, pivot points, quick adjust shaft and knobs.
