Oops, I'm a bit skint now...

#1 Post by TattooedGun »

Just got back from Bromsgrove Shooting Supplies...

A little bit skinter than I went there...

Picked up a .223 Rem 700 Police, Bushnell Elite 4.5-30x50 mildot, harris 6-9" bipod, Lee Deluxe Die Set (.223) Lapua Brass (100), Sierra MatchKings 69gr (100), cci primers, leupold quick release rings and some V mounts... got some other little bits too!

happy happy! just need to get out and shoot it...

I'm sure I paid a bit more for some of it than I could have done, but I got it locally and the staff are friendly and helpful :)

Just need to try and bore sight it so I can get on the frame at 300 yards next weekend for its first outting!

Also need to work on some rounds! methinks next weekend is going to be a little bit difficult!!

Heres Jim putting the scope on for me in the shop :)

What better way to spend your Saturday than on some retail therapy!

Sounds like you bought the entire shop... ;)

Looking forward to seeing the target result.

Well done!

I bought a Bushnell elite 4200 because it was there and very reasonably priced. I hesitated because I'm a dyed in the wool Leupold man. The scope has impressed the hind legs off me! I really would recommend them.

69gn SMK's......? Vhit N140 was outstanding for me.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Nice system and it should serve you well, they can be clinically accurate out to 600m and further. :goodjob:

Now we need a range report.

Remeber, the rifle and scope are 'liquid assets', with acceptable depretiation - so you havn't really 'spent' any money, just converted it into something more interesting ;) ....that's how I justify it to myself anyway

Range report to follow, however it might be a bit hectic for me to take pictures as usual :(

I've only got Varget powder, I didnt pick up any powder whilst I was at the store, I kinda spent enough and knew I had some at home anyways! I picked Varget in the beginning because I knew it was suitable for .223 and .308! we'll see what i can do though! a bit apprehensive about a new untested load and not really having the rifle sighted in for its first outting next week :(
