Has anyone tried one of the underlevers coming out of the Miroku factory?

I'd never heard of them, so did a quick search - could only find .22 underlevers?...do they do pistol calibers?

- not putting .22 down (i have 3)...but I've never seen the point of it in a lever action...

Apparently they build a Winchester (Model 54 maybe?)

I've been looking for a deal on a Miroku copy of the Winchester 1895. They're meant to be very nice.

Mate had one which I shot several times. It was lovely. Fit and finish were outstanding. It was a Miroku manufactured 1886 for Browning, in .45-70, with a carbine 22" round barrel. It was offered to me as he'd found an original 1886. I didn't take it as it wasn't a Marlin.....!

He sold it via Fultons (who do like a healthy mark up) for 650. It was snapped up.

Yes,a friend has one in 308.More suited to deer stalking perhaps as the barrel isnt that substantial so heats up real quick and is kinda lightweight too,but the mechanism is everso sweet operate. Its also only a 3+1 due to size of the round.

If they make a 1895 in 7.62x54 with the same fitments as the Russian contract I'm in

I worked for Browning in the late 80's

MOST of the rifles with a Browning logo were made in the Miroku factory, and the bulk of the shotguns too

From what I have seen, any of the special one-offs - such as single shot high-wall, etc. as well as the 45-70's and the like, were the product of the Miroku factory.
Most of the .22's such as the take-downs, BAR22, BLR22, etc. and the Win 9422 were from Japan
