No, not me. As much as I am pro gun in the UK with the current gun laws we have, that is where I draw the line.

If that makes sense

I'd love to go but distance defeats me.
I'd like to see the Chairman of the British NRA go and learn how it hould be done, but I am afraid he is a lost cause!!!
Christel, I really do not understand you, I'm afraid.

Because the US NRA has very different ideals and principles to the NRA-UK?

And that's the shame of it. Collectively I think we'd rather have the US version......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I wouldn't go quite that far Sim G, but their views are probably closer to the views of the average shooter than those of the Bisley NRA. Their support of shooters and shooting in general not just in respect of "The right to hold and bear arms" has certainly been more glorious than that of our NRA.

:G  :?

What line?????????

if you think the NRA here will do anything like it's counterpart forget it. It's not about LAWS, the NRA does not make laws...it helps its members get what they are entitled to UNDER the laws. it su[pports ALL disciplines and is far removed from what the UK has (no offence to UK-NRA).

The UK gun laws??? Not sure where you are coming from on that at all......? What difference do our laws make ecxept to ensure that shooting is on the way out in the UK..they sure as heck do not make long term shooting in the UK a sure bet. Maybe if the NRA here was as forceful, staffed and supported as it's US brethern it would have some clout.

Sorry Christel it doesn't make sense to me. Do you really think that our firearms laws are right? Perhaps it's just the way you came across because while I am in favour of control of access and availability of firearms I believe that our laws are confused and over restrictive. The whole system needs serious reviewing as a matter of uttmost urgency.

I would be VERY interested to know if anybody from NRA (UK), BASC and governemt is going to attend. And if not, why not?

At the very least, there should be a representative of the NRA going as surely there is a common interest and certainly a lot the NRA can learn about encompasiing all forms of shooting.

There are three fundamental things that the UK "national" bodies can learn from the US NRA.

1. The fundamental issue for and the business of "national" organisations is gun ownership not shooting disciplines.

2. There needs to one national body representing gun ownership, gun owners, shooters and shooting.

3 There needs to be constant intelligent and articulate promotion of gun ownership at all levels.

I'm talking about this in the context of UK legislation BTW.
