This is really good reading and Otis is lovely!

Thank you, Jenks, for posting the link.

I have since reading the blog found out that this river is apparently the birthplace of fly fishing.

Christel..

Yes, Chris has a good writing style. Mind you I wasn't best pleased by this reference to me in week 51/ 2008.
At the start of the week we had a crack at the ducks, my employer’s son and grandson along with an elderly gent from the village.

Elderly Gent indeed. ;) As you say Otis (Redding) is a lovely dog. As was his last Labrador, Zebo.

It is a good blog and I have enjoyed what I have read so far and Elderly Gent is quite a dignified description. At least he did not say ‘An old chap also tagged along but was mostly eyeing up the trees on the riverside whilst clutching a rule’

Hi Jenks, I've been reading this as well and find it a great read though not finished yet. As for the elderly gent thing, nothing wrong with that mate, at least he didn't call you some old guy.

Blu
