Interesting stuff though I suspect not very surprising to those of us with guns :)

Maybe our wonderful goverment will read it and let us all have our handguns back now? .................. I really must go and get a reality check ! ......... :)

"Guns are just sports equipment," -> British gun control

"Guns reduce crime and keep people safe," -> American gun rights

The tune needs to change.

no communist stae allows defensive firearms, why should we be different.

The politicians and antis will never let the truth override their own delusions and lies.

A thug found out about two years ago in my town why he shouldn't have broken into a house when the armed homeowner was present. The thug broke open the front door after knocking on it to see if anyone was home (this was during the day when most folks are at work). the woman who was in the home hadn't answered the knock thinking something strange was afoot. She also armed herself with a S&W .38 special revolver. when the thug came through the door and advanced on her she walked backward with the revolver pointed at him, telling him to leave. She exited the house through and open door to the backyard and still going backwards shot and hit him 5 times! The bad guy exited the house where the driver of the car he came in picked him up and fled the scene only to be stopped by the police responding to the homeowner's 911 emergency call. The homeowner wasn't charged. This happened in a solidly middle-class part of the town, the thug was as a commuter having been driven from Los Angeles to prey on what he thought were the easy pickings in my city. Not quite.

:good: sounds like the lady had been doing some practice, sadly if that happened here she'd probably end up with months of court cases and being sued by the victim for loss of earnings :bad:

Nicely written article, the Kleck and Gertz study was one of the first studys I read on gun control. It's good to see more coming along with newer data
