Not full bore related, I know, but has anyone come across these before?

I have two observations, both somewhat cynical.

1. £24.95 seems like a lot of money for a pie tin with 5 holes drilled in it. NB if it doesn't work as a target it will be no use as a pie tin since the gravy will run out through the holes.

2. At the recommended safe distance of 60-80 yards :o hitting the primer of a 9mm blank would be something of a challenge as (I think) they are only 0.175" in diameter. So I'm guessing the intention is to use 'pointy steel hunting pellets' to strike the primer? I have no proof whatsoever, but it seems quite unlikely to work.

Hmm.. I have some 9mm rimmed blanks somewhere and some aluminium plate, do you want me to make you one? I can assure you it will be a lot cheaper than this and no worries about postage either!

Here you go.

The delux shed version with room for 11 9mm/.38 rimmed blanks made out of 6mm Aluminium plate so nice and robust as well.

Did this many moons ago with 12-bore cartridges and air rifle from about thirty yards. Quite lively, made the old boy next door jump anyway...

No! No! I don't want one! But thanks for the offer.
I was just amazed that anybody would have these for sale.
Apart from the safety aspect, I cannot see these as being much cop, or of any practical use.

Gosh! The excitement! Bet you would be the envy of all your pals........

Way better - I have an unsafe practice to propose:

As was pointed out, SR primers and maybe 9mm primers are 0.175" in diameter. Well, a .177 air rifle is, well, .177 in diameter. So if you load a pallet gun with a primer, skirt facing back, it is not only reasonably accurate, as the skirt drag stabilizes it. And when it impacts a hard surface, like metal or stone, it explodes with a satisfying pop. I suspect the anvil is travelling back towards you at an alarming rate that would shoot your eye out, but as long as it does not hit your eye, it is uproariously fun.
