They could have at least sent a memo to all the affilated clubs.

Bring back the proper Journal and Editor I say!

If I wanted to peruse a cheesy advertising brochure, I would...
What a flimsy, pathetic and superficial effort that new thing is; a complete waste of time.

Just my 2p worth.

If you mean by post, thats over £600 just for the postage and materials. The NRA puts all this stuff in the Notices section of the Journal (or they did until a few vociferous people moaned that such useful information was boring ;) ). Every few weeks they send out an email of useful info to all Members who have allowed their email to be used for that purpose. In an organisation bouncing along on a shoestring, made to function by a mixture of badly-paid staff and volunteers, there are severe limits on this kind of thing. If it's important enough (eg the constitution requires it) stuff does go out by post, but we do our absolute best to avoid it, or to put it in something that's going anayway - eg the Journal.

Iain,

I would be interested in seeing a break down of the accounts - is there a copy available on line (or will I need to buy a set from companies house? (Do they hold charities?)

Reason I ask, as the only figures I could find are up to Dec 2010 - showing (from memory) 3.47m income and 4.? spending.

Mike

*edit* cancel that I have found them.

Shame there is no breakdown though.

There is a copy for 2010 on line Mike, I know this because I downloaded and skimmed them over the weekend, I have just gone to look for the link and cannot find it now.... I will keep looking.

It might have been emailed - I don't remember emailing it (mainly because it was in the Journal) but someone else may have done. My view is that we shouldn't repeat Journal articles unless really necessary as not everyone wants duplication of information.

I have no idea who the Training Department sent it to but I am sure Phyllis would have publicised it any way she could.

The Journal is THE ONLY WAY of contacting all members as many are not on email.

Your blaming of the NRA for the fact you did not know something because you did not bother to read the Journal is quite frankly typical.

And yes I do take offence at your comments abut the Journal which I edited and produced - why do you say such things if not to upset me? Well congratulations you have!

Phyllis was NOT the best for communicating, as I have found out to my cost.

Or even by email; they've got our club (855) email address but we got nothing about the changes.
